The short version
- Children never create accounts, never chat, and never share personal details with anyone.
- About each child we store only a nickname, a cartoon avatar, an optional age range and their progress — set up by you.
- No ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking, no profiling, no nudges to keep playing.
- A parental gate protects sign-up, the parent area and every link out of the app.
- You can review, download or delete your child’s information at any time.

1.Notice to parents (COPPA)
This is our direct notice to parents under the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It applies to NoorHop on the web and in our iOS and Android apps, and supplements our Privacy Policy.
The operator is Starling Global. You can contact us about children’s privacy at [email protected].
2.What we collect from children
Children do not provide personal information to us. They cannot create accounts, enter email addresses, chat, post content, or upload photos or recordings. The app never records a child’s voice or image and does not access location or contacts.
While a child plays, we record activity needed for the experience to work:
- Game results — which game, score, stars and time taken.
- Noori’s Journey progress and colouring artwork progress.
If no parent account is used, this stays on the device, and game results are sent with a random anonymous device ID that is not linked to any person. Video views are counted anonymously.
3.What parents tell us about children
When a parent creates an account (behind a parental gate), the parent may add a child profile containing:
- a nickname or first name,
- an avatar picked from our cartoon characters, and
- an optional age range.
The child’s progress (above) and the screen-time and section settings the parent chooses are then saved to that profile and synced to our servers so they carry across devices. We never ask for a child’s email, photo, voice, location, contacts or precise date of birth.
By creating an account and adding a child profile, the parent consents to this collection. We collect only what is reasonably necessary for the child to take part in the activity.
4.How children’s information is used
- To show the child their stars, progress and saved artwork.
- To keep progress in sync across the family’s devices.
- To apply the parent’s screen-time and content settings.
- To keep the Service secure and working properly.
We never use children’s information for advertising, behavioural targeting, profiling or marketing, and we never contact children.
5.Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or share children’s information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own use. Children’s information is never made public — there are no public profiles, leaderboards with names, or chat.
It is processed only by service providers that help us run NoorHop — Amazon Web Services (hosting, US) and Cloudflare (content delivery and security) — under contracts requiring them to keep it confidential and secure. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect a child’s safety.
Some videos play through YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube is only contacted when a video is played, and YouTube’s policies then apply to that playback.
6.Parents’ rights and controls
As a parent or guardian you can, at any time:
- Review and download your child’s information — Parent area → Account → Download data.
- Delete it — Parent area → Account → Delete account (immediate), at noorhop.com/account/delete, or by emailing [email protected].
- Refuse further collection — delete the account or contact us, and we will stop collecting and using your child’s information.
Deleted data is removed from our live database immediately and from backups within 30 days. Guest progress on a device can be removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. We respond to emailed requests within 30 days and may take reasonable steps to confirm you are the parent on the account.
7.UK Children’s Code and GDPR
We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children’s Code) and the GDPR’s additional protections for children:
- Best interests first — NoorHop is designed around children’s wellbeing, with natural stopping points and parent-set screen-time limits.
- High privacy by default — the Service works fully without an account; nothing is public; no optional data collection is switched on for children.
- Data minimisation — we collect only what each feature needs, and nothing directly from children.
- No profiling — we do not profile children, and there is no behavioural advertising.
- No nudge techniques — we don’t use design tricks that pressure children to keep playing, come back, or share information, and there is nothing to buy.
- No geolocation and no recording — we never access location, the camera or the microphone to record children.
- Parental controls — parents choose which sections are available and set screen-time limits.
- Transparency — this notice and our in-app wording are written for parents in plain language.
Where consent is the legal basis (for example, the parents-only newsletter), it is given by the parent, never by a child. Account data is processed to provide the service the parent requested.
8.App Store and Google Play families
Apple App Store — Kids Category
NoorHop is built to meet Apple’s Kids Category requirements: there are no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, no data is sent to third parties for advertising, and a parental gate must be passed before a child can open any external link, start account creation, or enter the parent area.
Google Play — Families
NoorHop is designed to comply with Google Play’s Families Policy: we do not show ads, we use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not collect advertising IDs, precise location or hardware device identifiers (the only identifier is a random ID created by the app), and parental gates protect links, accounts and settings.
