Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Hang it next to your child's bed or on the back of the bedroom door, at eye level.
  • Say the du'a together each morning, one phrase at a time, until they can say it without looking.
  • Make salaam the first words at breakfast, with everyone greeting each other.
  • Ask 'What is the first thing we say?' each morning, and let your child answer before you open the curtains.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
