Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Hang it by your prayer space at home or in the sisters' area of the masjid, and keep her prayer clothes and mat close by.
  • Learn one position a week: say the words together, then let your daughter show you the position.
  • Pray side by side and point to each step number as you go; children learn salah by copying you.
  • The poster shows only the start of Al-Fatihah and the tashahhud, so teach the full words as she is ready. Small details differ between schools of thought; follow your teacher.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
