  • Part of Qur'an 50:9 in Arabic, with transliteration and meaning: “We sent down blessed rain from the sky.”
  • The water cycle in 4 picture steps: up it goes, clouds, rain, and green again
  • The rain du'a Allahumma sayyiban nafi'a, “O Allah, make it a helpful rain!”, which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said when it rained (Al-Bukhari 1032, Hisn al-Muslim 172)
  • Pictures of the NoorHop girls looking up at the rain clouds and the raindrops on the window
  • A QR code to watch and sing “Pitter-Patter”
Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • On the next rainy day, stand at the window together and say the rain du'a.
  • Breathe on a cold window or mirror to see tiny water drops appear, just like the drops that join up to make clouds.
  • Plant a few seeds in a cup, water them and watch them wake up and turn green, like step 4.
  • Trace the steps with your finger, up, across and down, and say together: “Round and round it goes!”
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
