Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Hang it by the front door or the classroom entrance, where children greet people every day.
  • Act out the three “who says salaam first?” pictures with your child: greet Grandma as the youngest, or walk past a seated teddy and say salaam.
  • Start with the short Assalamu 'alaykum, then add wa rahmatullahi, then wa barakatuh as your child grows in confidence.
  • Make it a family habit to say salaam when you come home, and to answer every salaam you hear.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
