What's on the poster

  • 6 numbered picture steps: wait for your turn, ask nicely, my turn your turn, share, say thank you, and everyone plays
  • A speech bubble on every picture, from “1, 2, 3 … 20!” and “May I play, please?” to “Good game!”
  • JazakAllahu khayran in Arabic, with transliteration and meaning: “May Allah reward you with good” (At-Tirmidhi 2035)
  • A line from the NoorHop song: “What I'd love for me, I want for you. That's what kind believers do!”
  • A QR code to watch and sing “My Turn, Your Turn”
Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Hang it in the playroom or the classroom play corner, right where turn-taking squabbles tend to start.
  • Count to twenty together while one child waits for the swing or the toy, just like step 1.
  • Practise with a ball: roll it across and say “Your turn!”, then “JazakAllahu khayran!” when it comes back.
  • When a child shares without being asked, point to the poster and celebrate it together.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
