Where the words come from

Sources

Qur'an verses are copied letter for letter from tanzil.net or quran.com, and du'as and hadith from sunnah.com. The reference is printed on the poster, with a transliteration and a simple meaning. Where schools of thought differ on small details, follow your teacher.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Hang it by the iftar table, so the whole family can see the du'a when it's time to break the fast.
  • Let little ones practise fasting for part of the day, such as until lunch, and celebrate every try.
  • Pick one card a day to do together, like sharing food with a neighbour or reading a little Qur'an.
  • Say the iftar du'a together at sunset, pointing to each word of the transliteration as you go.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
