Du'a for knowledge
The du'a for knowledge is “Rabbi zidni 'ilma” — “My Lord, increase me in knowledge” (Qur'an 20:114). It is short enough for a three-year-old to learn.

رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidni 'ilma
“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
What it means
“Allah, please help me learn more and more.”
When we say it
Before learning — school, Qur'an class, homework or story time.
How to teach it in 3 steps
Step 1: Say it together at the school gate or before opening a book.
Step 2: Point up and then open your hands wide on “zidni” — “more and more!”
Step 3: Ask after school: “What new thing did Allah help you learn today?”
Questions parents ask
Is this a good du'a for the first day of school?
Yes — it's short, it's from the Qur'an, and children love saying it before something new.
Can younger children say it?
Absolutely. It is only three words — perfect for little ones.
