Ramadan is the month in which the Qur'an was first revealed, so Muslims read and listen to it a lot. Below you'll find a 5-minute activity for little ones (3–5) and big kids (6–8), today's word with audio, and a day card to print.

The very first word revealed was “Iqra” — read!
Even one minute a day of listening to or reading the Qur'an is a lovely habit to start.

Make a cosy Qur'an corner with a cushion and a high, clean shelf for the mushaf. Sit together and listen to a short surah from a reciter you trust for one minute.
One ayah a day
Choose a short surah, such as Al-Ikhlas, and learn one ayah each day with a grown-up. Repeat it in the car, at the table or at bedtime.
