Today's mini-lesson

Ramadan begins when the thin new moon, called the hilal, is seen in the evening sky.

Muslims all over the world are happy when it appears, and we greet each other with “Ramadan Mubarak” — have a blessed Ramadan!

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic year, and it lasts 29 or 30 days.
