Today's mini-lesson
Fasting teaches patience — waiting calmly for something good.
The Qur'an tells us that Allah loves those who are patient.
When we talk about something we hope will happen later, we say “InshaAllah” — if Allah wills.
Sources: Qur'an 3:146
The waiting garden
Sprinkle cress or bean seeds on damp cotton wool in a little pot. Check it together every morning and say “InshaAllah it will grow!”
Waiting ideas jar
Write things that are hard to wait for on slips of paper — iftar, Eid, a turn on the swing. Pick one and think of three calm things to do while you wait.
InshaAllah
إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
InshaAllah
“If Allah wills”
We say it when we talk about the future.
