Today's mini-lesson
The masjid is the house of Allah, where Muslims pray together.
In Ramadan, masjids are extra busy: many people come for iftar and for the special night prayer called taraweeh.
When we visit, we walk calmly, speak softly and greet people with “Assalamu alaikum”.
Masjid in a box
Build a masjid from blocks or boxes, with a dome and a tall minaret. Lay a small cloth inside as a prayer mat and practise tiptoeing in quietly.
Masjid visit plan
Plan a visit together: what to wear, what to bring (a quiet book, a small bag for shoes) and three masjid manners to remember. If you can, go for iftar or part of taraweeh.
