Today's mini-lesson
The fast begins at dawn, when the first light appears before sunrise, and ends at sunset.
Allah made the sun and the moon move in a perfect pattern, so we always know when to pray and when to break the fast.
That's why fasting times change a little every day and are different from country to country.

Sunset watch
Find a window that faces the sunset and watch the sky change before iftar. Name the colours together — orange, pink, purple — and say “SubhanAllah!”
Shadow clock
Stand a pencil in a lump of playdough on a sunny windowsill. Mark where its shadow falls in the morning, at lunchtime and in the afternoon. The sun seems to move — and the shadow follows!
