  • A big model ح with a green start dot and arrows showing which way to write

Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Haa

How to say it

Tighten the middle of your throat and breathe out a strong, whispery h — like fogging up a mirror, only deeper. It's stronger than the soft ه (Ha).

Don't mix it up

Same shape as ج and خ — ح is the one with no dot.

Hear Haa and its picture words on the letter Haa page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Haa… a strong, breathy h from the throat”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
