Arabic Letter Zay (ز) Tracing Worksheet

  • The picture word زَيْتُون (zaytoon, olives) and a box to draw it
Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Zay

How to say it

Teeth close together, then buzz like a bee: zzz.

Don't mix it up

Same shape as ر — ز has one dot on top.

Hear Zay and its picture words on the letter Zay page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Zay… z”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
