What's on each page

  • A big model ش with a green start dot and arrows showing which way to write
  • Four right-to-left rows on Arabic handwriting lines: outlined → dotted → start dot → on your own
  • The picture word شَمْس (shams, sun) and a box to draw it
Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Sheen

How to say it

Push your lips forward and say 'shh', like asking for quiet.

Don't mix it up

Same shape as س — ش has three dots on top.

Hear Sheen and its picture words on the letter Sheen page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Sheen… sh”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
