Arabic Letter Dhaa (ظ) Tracing Worksheet

Practise writing Dhaa (ظ) — a heavy th, as in 'this'. Your child traces from the right-hand side: big outlined letters first, then dotted ones, then on their own, and finishes by drawing an envelope (dharf).

What's on each page

  • A big model ظ with a green start dot and arrows showing which way to write
  • Four right-to-left rows on Arabic handwriting lines: outlined → dotted → start dot → on your own
  • The picture word ظَرْف (dharf, envelope) and a box to draw it
Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Dhaa

How to say it

Tongue tip between your teeth like ذ (Dhaal), then make the sound deep and full with a round mouth.

Don't mix it up

Same shape as ط — ظ has one dot on top.

Hear Dhaa and its picture words on the letter Dhaa page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Dhaa… a heavy th,”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
