Arabic Letter Ghayn (غ) Tracing Worksheet

Practise writing Ghayn (غ) — a gargly gh, like a French r. Your child traces from the right-hand side: big outlined letters first, then dotted ones, then on their own, and finishes by drawing a gazelle (ghazal).

What's on each page

  • A big model غ with a green start dot and arrows showing which way to write
  • Four right-to-left rows on Arabic handwriting lines: outlined → dotted → start dot → on your own
  • The picture word غَزَال (ghazal, gazelle) and a box to draw it
Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Ghayn

How to say it

Make a soft gargling sound at the top of your throat, like the French 'r' in 'Paris': gh.

Don't mix it up

Same shape as ع — غ has one dot on top.

Hear Ghayn and its picture words on the letter Ghayn page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Ghayn… a gargly gh, like a French r”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
