Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Saad

How to say it

Say s, but lift the back of your tongue and round your mouth so the sound comes out full and deep. Compare it with the light س (Seen).

Don't mix it up

ض is ص with one dot on top.

Hear Saad and its picture words on the letter Saad page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Saad… a heavy s”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
