Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Seen

How to say it

Smile a little and hiss like a snake: sss — a light, thin s.

Don't mix it up

ش is س with three dots on top.

Hear Seen and its picture words on the letter Seen page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Seen… s”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
