What's on the poster
- All 28 letters in order from Alif to Ya, numbered, with each letter's name
- A picture and an Arabic word with vowel marks for every letter, such as jamal (camel) for Jeem and shams (sun) for Sheen
- A “Start here!” arrow: Arabic reads from right to left
- Colour-coded look-alike letters and a “count the dots” tip for Ba, Ta and Tha
- A line from the NoorHop song “Alif Ba Ta”, and a QR code to more free NoorHop posters
For grown-ups
- Point, say and find: “Ba, battah, duck!” Then let your child lead.
- Play I spy: name a picture, such as the camel or the moon, and ask which letter its word starts with.
- Count the dots on Ba, Ta and Tha, then hunt for other same-colour neighbours that share a shape.
- Hang it at your child's eye level, near where they practise Qaida.
- Print at 100% ("actual size") on thick paper, or laminate it for a busy wall. For a big classroom or masjid poster, use the 18 × 24 in PDF at a print shop.
