Arabic Letter Ha (ه) Tracing Worksheet

Practise writing Ha (ه) — a soft h, as in hat. Your child traces from the right-hand side: big outlined letters first, then dotted ones, then on their own, and finishes by drawing a crescent moon (hilal).

What's on each page

  • A big model ه with a green start dot and arrows showing which way to write

  • The picture word هِلَال (hilal, crescent moon) and a box to draw it
Tips for the letter

Saying and writing Ha

How to say it

Breathe out gently from deep down in your throat: h, as in 'hat'. Softer than ح (Haa).

Don't mix it up

Watch out for ة at the end of words: it looks like ه with two dots, but it says t (or a soft h when you stop).

Hear Ha and its picture words on the letter Ha page.

How to use it

For grown-ups

  • Every row starts on the right. A small sticker on the right-hand margin is a great reminder.
  • Say the sound each time: “Ha… a soft h,”.
  • Trace the model letter with a finger first, following the arrows, then use a pencil.
  • Use a thick crayon or triangular pencil for little hands — and stop while it's still fun.
  • Print at 100% ("actual size"). Ink-saver line art is the default, so colouring in is part of the fun.
